Leave a legacy
Join us to shift reality by leaving a gift to Terrapin in your will.
An enduring gift
As part of our mission to make lives better and bring people together, Terrapin creates transformative programs and art for the people in our community who need it most.
This includes residents in aged care, to kids in regional and remote schools, to families in emergency accommodation, and young people speaking out about hard topics. We’re able to do this through the generous support of people like you.
Leaving a gift to Terrapin in your will is a meaningful and enduring way to enrich the lives of future Tasmanians.
Your legacy will help Terrapin to continue making meaningful, innovative and creative work for generations for come, and contribute to a robust Tasmanian cultural sector. Every gift, no matter its size, helps us to make Tasmanian lives better.
Therese's story
‘I knew when I was making my will, there were a few organisations close to my heart that I wanted to recognise with a financial legacy. It was easy to ensure Terrapin Puppet Theatre was one of these.
The work of Terrapin has been part of my life for many years. I first joined the Board of Terrapin in the 1990s and was immediately impressed by the company's professionalism, creativity and innovation, enriching people’s lives and stimulating important conversations about social change and Tasmania’s place in the world.
In the years since, I have had the privilege of witnessing Terrapin’s growth and development. The company has broadened its reach and scope, enriching the lives of the entire community from school children to those in aged care, and those isolated geographically or socially. Terrapin is using the ancient artform of puppetry as a medium for social change for the people that need it most, and that is important to me.
Terrapin has built a reputation as a world class company, established and grown in Tasmania. We bask in a sense of pride for this small company at the end of the earth; however, sustainability and financial precarity remain constant for a company of Terrapin’s size prioritising for-purpose work.
I don’t want Terrapin to be focused on survival, but rather on continuing to create works that inspire, grown out of the fabric of Tasmania.
I want to be part of Terrapin’s future to allow it to make lives better, to engage in difficult social agendas and shift realities.
That is why I will leave a bequest to Terrapin in my will.’
